The Cyber Crime Police have arrested Tiruchi Suriyaa, son of DMK Rajya Sabha MP Tiruchi Siva, in connection with the publication of a video on a YouTube channel that allegedly contained defamatory, obscene, and derogatory remarks against a woman.

The Social Media Investigation Wing of the Cyber Crime Branch (CCB) took action following a complaint lodged by a Chennai-based woman with the Police Commissioner on Wednesday (June 3, 2026).

According to the complainant, the video, uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘MY INDIA 24x7’, contained obscene, insulting, and sexually explicit remarks against her and her newborn twins, thereby affecting her dignity and privacy.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered at the CCB Cyber Crime Police Station, and an investigation was initiated. During the course of the probe, the police arrested Tiruchi Suriyaa. He was scheduled to be produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Saidapet.

Police Commissioner A. Amalraj warned that publishing obscene, derogatory, or otherwise unlawful content targeting women on social media platforms and websites was a serious offence, and that strict legal action would be taken against those involved in such activities.
