Officials from the district medical and health department conducted a training programme for the medical and paramedical staff on Friday (June 5, 2026), ahead of the Pulse Polio immunisation drive, which is set to begin on June 28.
District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Naga Shashibhushan Reddy and District Immunisation Officer (DIO) M. Hanumantha Rao reviewed preparedness measures, instructing officials to ensure coverage of all children in the age group of 0-5 years.
The officials gave orientation to the personnel under training about deployment of duty staff, availability of vaccine carriers, cold-chain storage capacity, identification of high-risk areas, and transportation arrangements. The campaign will begin with booth activities on the first day, followed by house-to-house visits and door marking exercises over the next two days to reach children who may have missed vaccination.
The DM&HO said that a Task Force Committee meeting for all the mandal-level officails will be held on June 19, while route officers will undergo divisional-level training on June 22. Public awareness campaigns, including door-to-door outreach and traditional announcements, will be conducted from June 24 to 26 across the district.
