The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mysuru chapter’s the “Adopt-a-Stretch” Road Adoption Initiative, in partnership with Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), which is aimed at positioning Mysuru among the cleanest cities in the country, will be launched on Saturday.
Under this initiative, member industries will adopt road stretches surrounding their premises, while MCC will support the upkeep of these stretches and curb unauthorised waste dumping through strict enforcement measures using technology.
The initiative promotes long-term cleanliness, environmental stewardship, civic responsibility, and community participation through a strong public-private partnership model. “This industry-government-technology partnership signals a data-driven push to make Mysuru a model clean city once again,” according to CII.
CII Mysuru has invited industries, educational institutions, resident associations, NGOs, and citizens to participate in the initiative and support the collective vision of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Mysuru. Participants will be provided with necessary guidance and safety instructions for the clean-up activities.
Also, the CII, in collaboration with MCC and Young Indians (Yi), will lead a clean-up drive on Saturday to mark World Environment Day. Under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future,” the initiative aims to promote environmental awareness, responsible waste management practices, and community participation in creating a cleaner and greener Mysuru.
Building on the success of the World Environment Day Plastic Clean-up Drive organised in 2025, this year’s initiative seeks to further strengthen collective action towards environmental sustainability and responsible community engagement, a press release said.
The clean-up will be conducted from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. along the Mysuru Ring Road, followed by an awareness session at J.K. Grounds from 09:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The session will gather environmentalists, educators, industry
