The District Kannada Sahitya Parishat will felicitate students who scored the highest marks in the Kannada language in this year’s SSLC examination with ‘Kannada Vidya Spoorthi’ at Veerashaiva Kalyan Mantap in Yadgir on Sunday (June 7).
Addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Friday (June 5), Siddappa Hotti, president of the parishat, said that the parishat will felicitate students of Kannada, English, and Urdu mediums who scored 100 out of 100 marks in the Kannada language paper with the award.
“As many as 213 have been chosen for the award, of which 27 are Kannada-medium students, followed by 186 English and Urdu-medium students,” Dr. Hotti said.
The parishat has been felicitating students for nine years. The scheduled programme will be inaugurated by Channareddy Patil Tunnur, MLA, while another MLA, Sharanagowda Kandkur, will distribute awards to the students.
Subhashchandra Koulagi, Bheemaraya Lingeri, R. Mahadevappa, S.S. Naik, Noorandappa Levadi, Basavantharay Malipatil, Nagappa Sajjan, and Channappa Thanagundi were present.
