The National Academy of Construction, Andhra Pradesh (NAC–A.P.), has won two honours at the ISDA Infracon National Awards (IINA) 2026 held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
The awards were presented by Member of Parliament and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma in the presence of policymakers, industry leaders, infrastructure experts and representatives of leading institutions from across the country.
NAC–A.P. Director General G. Ganesh Kumar received the Gold Award for Best Individual Contribution – Excellence in Government Service in recognition of his leadership and efforts to strengthen skill development and workforce capacity in the construction sector.
The Academy also secured the Platinum Award for Best Skill Development Initiative in the Construction Sector under the Specialised Sector category. The award recognises NAC–A.P.’s contribution to industry-oriented training and the development of a skilled workforce for the construction and infrastructure sectors.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Academy said it has emerged as a leading skill development institution by providing industry-focused training in various construction-related disciplines. Through its Advanced Skill Training Institutes (ASTIs), district training centres and Centres of Excellence, NAC–A.P. has trained thousands of youth, construction workers, engineers, supervisors and other professionals in areas such as construction technologies, renewable energy, electrical systems, plumbing, masonry, formwork, bar bending and safety management.
The Academy said its initiatives are aimed at bridging the gap between industry requirements and workforce skills through practical training, technology-enabled learning, industry partnerships, certification programmes, placement support and upskilling initiatives. These efforts have contributed to improved employability, entrepreneurship development, workplace safety and sustainable infrastructure growth.
