A 23-year-old man and 16-year-old girl were found dead on the railway tracks near Devan Tegnoor village in Shahabad taluk of Kalaburagi district on Thursday (June 4).
The man was identified as Shivappa Sabanna. Both were residents of the village. According to preliminary information, the two were reportedly close to each other and belonged to different communities.
The police visited the spot and inspected it after the residents noticed the bodies on the railway tracks and alerted them.
Officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. A case has been registered at the Wadi Railway Police Station, and an inquiry is under way.
