On the occasion of World Environment Day, a tree plantation drive was organised by 27 Karnataka Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC), Hubballi, on the Karnatak University Campus in Dharwad, where it is conducting its Annual Training Camp (ATC).
A total of 521 NCC cadets enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive on June 5 by planting saplings and pledged to contribute towards environmental conservation and the protection of natural resources.
Col. C. Rajashekar, Group Commander, NCC Group Belagavi, stressed the importance of environmental protection and highlighted the vital role of youth in building a greener and more sustainable future.
Lt. Col. Ajay Negi, Camp Commandant, Lt. Col. S.P. Dessai, Deputy Camp Commandant, and nine associate NCC officers were present. The ATC, being conducted under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Belagavi, will conclude on June 9.
