The Tanzania High Commission in Abuja says it is intensifying efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy and deepen trade relations between Tanzania and Nigeria through increased engagement with businesses and investors. In a statement on Friday, the mission noted that its participation in international trade platforms is part of broader efforts to expand market access for Tanzanian products and foster mutually beneficial commercial partnerships across Africa. “The participation of the Tanzania High Commission aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy and deepen trade relations between Tanzania and Nigeria,” the mission said. The mission explained that such engagements are aimed at boosting bilateral trade, encouraging private-sector collaboration, and opening new investment opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and services. The high commission added that Tanzania’s growing export base offers significant opportunities for Nigerian importers, distributors, and investors seeking high-quality agricultural and value-added products. It also emphasised that trade partnerships between both countries remain central to advancing the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to promote intra-African trade and economic integration. The commission further encouraged stakeholders in both nations to take advantage of upcoming trade exhibitions and business forums to build partnerships and explore new commercial opportunities.
