The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has decided to temporarily split the world's third-ranked men's doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, for the upcoming Japan Open. This strategic move is part of a plan to identify the most effective partnerships ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics qualification period. During this trial, Chia will partner with Tee Kai Wun, while Wooi Yik will team up with Man Wei Chong. This decision follows the pair's early exit from the Indonesia Open and comes after a successful partnership that saw them win the 2022 World Championships and two Olympic bronze medals.
