Pembubaran DUN Negeri Sembilan, Johor berpunca daripada BN - Sheikh Umar Bagharib

The dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan and Johor State Legislative Assemblies stemmed from actions taken by Barisan Nasional (BN), according to DAP Johor Vice Chairman Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali. He explained that Negeri Sembilan's assembly was dissolved due to a political crisis initiated by BN's maneuvering, which resulted in a minority government. In contrast, Johor's assembly dissolution was driven by BN's political ambitions to strengthen its dominance, despite no immediate need for state government stability. Sheikh Umar highlighted that while both dissolutions appear similar, their underlying issues differ significantly. The Negeri Sembilan dissolution followed failed attempts by BN to topple the existing government, leading to a minority administration and necessitating a return of the mandate to the people. Johor's decision, however, was motivated by BN's desire to contest all 56 seats alone, aiming for sole control of the state government, even amidst economic challenges and the increased expenditure of holding separate state elections.
