Spiking Neural Network Chip for Smarter Sensors

Innatera has introduced the Pulsar, a new microcontroller designed to mimic the energy efficiency of the human brain for AI tasks. This chip aims to reduce power consumption and latency significantly compared to traditional processors, potentially eliminating the performance-power trade-off common in current AI hardware. The Pulsar features a hybrid analog-digital design with specialized cores for spiking neural networks and accelerators for image and signal processing.
