Natuzzi is relocating a significant portion of its Italian production to Romania, a move that will lead to the closure of several facilities in Puglia and Basilicata. While two plants in Matera and Laterza will remain operational, staff from the closed sites will be redistributed among them. This decision follows a history of intermittent use of Italy's wage guarantee fund (cassa integrazione) for workers at these locations.
The relocation raises concerns about job security and the future of Italian manufacturing in the furniture sector.
