A young sow at Granja São Sebastião in Itaporã, Mato Grosso do Sul, has set a new farm record by giving birth to 33 piglets in her first litter. While four of the piglets were stillborn, the remaining 29 survived, a feat also unprecedented for the farm. The birth process spanned five hours, with the farm's team closely monitoring and caring for each newborn. Sixteen piglets were kept with the mother sow, while the others were transferred to a surrogate mother, with all surviving piglets reported to be healthy and thriving.
