Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a threat to completely close the Strait of Hormuz to oil and gas exports if the United States "repeats its provocations." This statement follows recent exchanges of fire in the Persian Gulf. The U.S. military reported targeting Iranian coastal surveillance radars in Guruk and Qeshm in response to Iranian drones being flown towards the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC claimed to have fired missiles at U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, though U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated these missiles were intercepted or missed their targets.
