The second accused in the ongoing Nasir incident trial, Mam Pal Dhuor, has denied all charges brought against him by the prosecution. Testifying through a court interpreter during the 84th session of the Special Court on Friday, Mam Pal rejected allegations that he financed armed youth involved in the March 2025 violence in Nasir County. Mam told the court that evidence presented by prosecution witnesses and an electronic forensic expert was false and insufficient to link him to the incident. He also denied sending money to individuals allegedly connected to the violence, including transfers of 15,000 US dollars, 123,000 Kenyan shillings, and 625,000 Ethiopian birr. Mam said the 15,000 dollars in question was sent to his friend and business associate in India, identified as Muhammed Sherif Ahmed, for trade purposes and had no connection to the Nasir conflict. According to his testimony, the two later planned to travel to Dubai, but Ahmed travelled ahead because Mam Pal did not have a visa to enter the United Arab Emirates at the time. He further told the court that he later instructed his business team to send $15,000 to Ahmed in Dubai on his behalf and confirmed that the money was received. Mam Pal added that travel records, which he said are currently held by the National Security Service, could support his account. He further told the court that he did not know some of the individuals named by the prosecution and had never sent them money. Mam denied claims that money was sent to Nasir through M-Pesa to an individual identified as Garwech Liam, as alleged earlier by the digital forensic expert. He also rejected allegations that he sent money to Brigadier Hok Dok through the Ethiopia Commercial Bank, as claimed by the prosecution. Mam further claimed that he was arrested without being informed of the reasons for his detention and described the arrest as arbitrary and unlawful. He also alleged that security officers confiscated his personal belongings during the arrest, including gold watches, mobile phones, a gold necklace, three gold rings, 1,158 US dollars, and 23,000 South Sudanese Pounds. Mam told the court that the items have not been returned to him and were not presented by the prosecution during the trial. The court heard that Mam was arrested at Juba International Airport while travelling to Uganda and was later detained by National Security Service officers. The presiding judge, Dr. James Alala, ruled that the hearing would resume on Monday, June 8, to allow the accused to continue his defence.
