The survey found that 54% of respondents are satisfied with the work of Halla Tómasdóttir , an increase of nine percentage points from the previous quarterly survey, when satisfaction stood at 45%. Approval rating increases As reported by RÚV , Maskína conducts regular surveys measuring public opinion on the president’s performance. The latest result is also slightly higher than the 52% satisfaction recorded last year. In 2024, Halla’s first year in office, 48% of respondents said they were satisfied with her work. According to the poll, nearly 24% of respondents said they were very satisfied with the president’s performance, while almost 10% reported being satisfied. By comparison, 5.5% said they were very dissatisfied and almost 8% said they were somewhat dissatisfied. Around one-third of respondents said they were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. The survey also identified differences between demographic groups. Women reported higher levels of satisfaction than men, with 64% expressing satisfaction and almost 8% dissatisfaction. Among men, almost 44% said they were satisfied, while more than 18% reported dissatisfaction. Support was strongest among voters of Viðreisn, where 67.5% expressed satisfaction. Voters of the Pirate Party and the People’s Party also recorded satisfaction levels above 63%.
