First Young Art auction takes place in Latvia
During Riga Art Week, the "Kimmel" quarter hosted the Latvian Young Art exhibition, featuring 26 young artists. On June 3, the first Young Art Auction also took place, giving interested parties the opportunity to purchase works seen at the exhibition. This idea was borrowed from Estonia, where similar auctions have already become a tradition, Latvian Television reported on June 4.
Latvia has held its inaugural Young Art Auction, coinciding with Riga Art Week. The event, which took place in the "Kimmel" quarter, showcased works from 26 emerging artists. Following the exhibition, attendees had the chance to acquire pieces they had viewed. This initiative is inspired by a similar, established tradition in Estonia.
This event marks a new platform for young Latvian artists to gain exposure and potentially sell their work, fostering the growth of the local art market.
