This decision comes after police previously denied his request for a similar arrangement. Høiby's lawyer stated that the correctional service offered to facilitate his temporary release from prison, accompanied by guards, for this purpose. This process, known as 'fremstilling,' is typically used for medical appointments or family matters. The police have indicated no objection to this arrangement as long as the correctional service handles the escort.
The decision allows Marius Borg Høiby to be present for discussions about his mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, whose lung condition has significantly worsened over the past six months.
