A 26-year-old man, identified as Paulo César de Almeida Júnior, has been apprehended in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Espírito Santo, in connection with the fatal shooting of his stepmother. Authorities located the suspect outside a bar on Friday evening, and he reportedly attempted to flee upon police arrival. He was found in the company of another individual wanted for drug trafficking, and both were taken into custody. The victim, 46-year-old businesswoman Flaviana Granzieiri, was shot on May 15th and later succumbed to her injuries despite receiving medical attention. Relatives had previously indicated suspicion towards the stepson, and the victim's partner, the suspect's father, allegedly confessed that his son was the perpetrator.
The arrest of the suspect brings a step closer the resolution of a violent crime that has impacted a local family and business community.
