The village of Foini is renowned for its many treasures, its loukoumi, however, is the village’s pride and joy. This summer, it celebrates this traditional delicacy once again by hosting the 3 rd Loukoumi Festival on Sunday. Get ready for a day full of music, food and Cypriot character! The village of Foini is preparing to host its third annual Loukoumi Festival on Sunday, celebrating its famous traditional sweet. The event, which begins at 11 am in the village square, promises a day filled with music, food, and cultural activities for all ages. Attendees can enjoy live music from Vasiliki Hadjiadamou and the Cretan ensemble Cretaioi, as well as a performance by tsiattista poets. Culinary demonstrations featuring the village's signature loukoumi will be led by TV chef Chryso Lefou, and children's entertainment will be available throughout the afternoon. The festival will also showcase traditional crafts, including ceramics and weaving, alongside opportunities for loukoumi tasting and a complimentary shot of zivania.
This festival highlights and preserves the traditional Cypriot delicacy of loukoumi and the cultural heritage of the village of Foini.
