As populations surge into urban centers seeking opportunities, the resulting expansion is leading to massive accumulations of plastic waste and a reduction in space for urban agriculture. Discarded plastic items frequently clog drainage systems, exacerbating flooding and creating breeding grounds for disease vectors. Simultaneously, limited land availability due to population density and housing development restricts urban residents' ability to grow their own food and flowers.
Repurposing discarded plastic containers into home gardens offers a practical and affordable solution to mitigate plastic pollution, enhance urban food security, and improve the quality of life for city dwellers.
