Greek shipping remains robust and adaptable amidst global changes, according to Melina Travlou, President of the Union of Greek Shipowners. She highlighted the significant order book of over 930 new vessels, demonstrating the sector's commitment to future investment and confirming Greece's leading position in new, modern ship investments. While Greece ranks second globally in fleet size behind China, a substantial portion of China's fleet is state-owned. Travlou also stressed the need for the EU to implement measures that enhance the competitiveness of the entire European fleet.
The strength and investment strategy of the Greek shipping industry are crucial indicators of global trade resilience and future maritime development.
