A photograph taken in Bangladesh has secured the top position in the 'Food for Life' category at the World Food Photography Awards 2026. The image, captured at Dhaka's Gabtoli, depicts an "open-air restaurant" scene. This year's competition saw approximately 9,000 entries from over 50 countries, with 10 winning photographs being selected. Other winning images included a solitary woman eating in a Tajik sanatorium canteen, a shot from Kyoto's Nishiki Market in the 'Street Food' category, and a Japanese photograph showcasing traditional dried fish.

This recognition highlights the global reach and impact of Bangladeshi photography on an international stage.
