Specifically, a Facebook profile named 'Gurudaspur Upazila Jubo League' was found to be spreading old videos of clashes and attacks, falsely claiming they occurred during recent Eid festivities. Another instance involved a doctored photo card falsely attributing a statement about extortion to a political figure. The analysis revealed a pattern of misinformation related to sensitive topics like rape and violence against women, with old footage being misrepresented as recent incidents. These misleading narratives often exploit public anxieties and emotions surrounding significant events.

The spread of misinformation, especially when disguised as current events, can mislead the public, create unnecessary panic, and damage the credibility of legitimate news sources.
