The Greek tax authorities are launching an extensive operation against tax evasion, employing artificial intelligence to identify high-risk businesses and professionals. Approximately 4,000 targeted audits will be conducted in the coming months, focusing on income concealment and undeclared transactions. The selection process will analyze data from platforms like myDATA, POS transactions, and VAT declarations to create risk profiles for thousands of tax identification numbers. Last year's checks revealed a high rate of non-compliance, with over a third of audited entities found to have violations.
This intensified tax enforcement aims to curb tax evasion, which is crucial for ensuring fair contribution to public revenue and maintaining the stability of the Greek economy.
