‘সমুদ্রপথে বিদেশযাত্রা, রুখতে হবে এখনই’ শীর্ষক এ গোলটেবিল বৈঠকের আয়োজন করে ব্র্যাক ও প্রথম আলো। রঙিন জীবনের স্বপ্ন এবং অর্থনৈতিক মুক্তির আশায় সমুদ্রপথে অবৈধভাবে ইউরোপ-অস্ট্রেলিয়াসহ বিভিন্ন দেশে যাওয়ার ঝুঁকি নিচ্ছেন একশ্রেণির মানুষ। দালাল চক্রের ফাঁদে পড়ে এ পথে যেতে গিয়ে নির্মম নিপীড়ন-নির্যাতনের শিকার হতে হচ্ছে। কেউ কেউ সাগরে ডুবে মারা যাচ্ছেন, কারও কারও নির্যাতনেই মৃত্যু হয়। এমন যাত্রার কারণে দেশের মর্যাদাও ক্ষুণ্ন হচ্ছে। তাই সমুদ্রপথে বিদেশযাত্রাকে না বলতে হবে। গতকাল শনিবার

Participants urged an immediate halt to this practice, emphasizing the severe risks of exploitation, torture, and death faced by individuals seeking better lives in Europe and Australia. The meeting stressed that human traffickers prey on desperate individuals, leading to immense suffering for migrants and their families, and tarnishing the nation's image.
Discussions also touched upon the need to improve the quality of technical training centers for legal migration and the importance of widespread awareness campaigns at the union level. The involvement of government bodies, NGOs, politicians, public representatives, and media was deemed crucial to combat this perilous journey.
This issue matters because it addresses a critical human trafficking and migration crisis that endangers lives, exploits vulnerable individuals, and impacts national reputation.
