Mercado Municipal recebe inauguração da instalação artística “Nha Rede”
Segundo o Centro Nacional de Arte, Artesanato e Design (CNAD), ao longo desta residência foi construída uma peça têxtil colectiva que reúne experiências, saberes, práticas e imaginários partilhados entre artistas, designers e artesãos, num processo colaborativo de criação e valorização das artes têxteis tradicionais e contemporâneas. The Municipal Market is now hosting the art installation "Nha Rede," a collective textile piece developed through a creative residency. This collaborative effort brought together artists, designers, and artisans to share experiences and knowledge, focusing on both traditional and contemporary textile arts. The project, coordinated by Rita and Maria Quintela along with designer Stephanie Silva, involved local craftswomen skilled in techniques like crochet, knitting, macramé, patchwork, and tapestry. The residency aimed to foster collaboration, promote manual skills, and invigorate the local artistic and artisanal scene in Cape Verde.
This initiative highlights and preserves traditional textile crafts while fostering contemporary artistic collaboration within the community.
