Strengthening enterprise governance for rising edge AI workloads

Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) are facing new challenges in governing enterprise AI, particularly with the rise of models like Google Gemma 4 operating at the edge. Traditionally, security leaders have focused on robust cloud security measures, employing tools like cloud access security brokers and monitoring all external large language model traffic through corporate gateways. This established approach, however, is being tested as AI workloads increasingly move beyond centralized cloud environments to edge devices.
