These AI Workstations Look Like PCs but Pack a Stronger Punch

Tenstorrent has unveiled the QuietBox 2, a new AI workstation designed to handle demanding large language models locally. Unlike standard PCs, which struggle with the memory requirements of advanced AI models, the QuietBox 2 boasts significant memory capacity with 128GB of GDDR6 and 256GB of DDR5 system RAM. This configuration allows it to run models like OpenAI's GPT-OSS-120B and Meta's Llama 3.1 70B at high speeds, reportedly outperforming current leading AI services.

The device is engineered to fit within a typical PC workstation form factor and power constraints, drawing 1,400W at full load, making it suitable for home office environments. It integrates four of Tenstorrent's custom Blackhole AI accelerators and features a design that resembles a conventional desktop, including liquid cooling and customizable lighting, while offering significantly more AI processing power than a typical high-end PC. The QuietBox 2 is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2026 with an anticipated price of $9,999.
