Demand for smart cockpit screens fuels automotive AMOLED market

The market for small automotive AMOLED displays, under five inches, is projected for substantial growth, with shipments expected to surge by 541% to 1.5 million units by 2030. This expansion is driven by a shift in vehicle design, moving away from traditional small control screens towards integrated, larger displays that prioritize aesthetics and intelligent interaction. AMOLED technology is favored for its high pixel density, rapid response times, and superior contrast, enabling vibrant animated interfaces and AI-driven features. These displays also offer lower power consumption for always-on functions and flexible form factors, making them ideal for in-cabin intelligent assistant systems.

Automakers are increasingly incorporating these advanced small screens to enhance the user experience, as seen in models like the AITO M9 with its 1.73-inch AMOLED display and the NIO NOMI's 2.18-inch OLED system. Even performance-oriented cockpits, such as AMG's steering wheel with dual 0.98-inch OLEDs, are adopting this technology.
