A petition signed by locals states that the monkey has attacked at least 32 people in the last three months, with 15 requiring vaccination. The aggressive primate has been terrorizing the Lalbazar neighborhood for about three months, entering homes and shops to steal food and attacking people. Residents are forced to keep their doors shut out of fear, and some have suffered severe injuries requiring medical treatment and surgery. The Forest Department has acknowledged the monkey's unusual behavior and is considering alternative measures after failed attempts to capture it.
