The Prothom Alo Trust has taken over the management of Meghna-Par Dhibar Bidyaniketan, a school dedicated to educating children from marginalized Bede and fishing communities along the Meghna coast in Lakshmipur. The school, now renamed Meghna-Par Dhibar Alor Pathshala, will operate under the Trust's Alor Pathshala initiative starting June 1, 2025. Originally established in 2008 by Professor Akhtaruzzaman Bhuiyan and local figure Sohrab Majhi, the school provided free quality education to children of nomadic Bede families and impoverished fishing communities, overcoming significant financial and infrastructural challenges for 17 years. The Prothom Alo Trust's intervention is expected to bring modern improvements to the school's infrastructure and educational system, ensuring continued free education for these disadvantaged children and fostering educational advancement in the coastal region.

This initiative highlights the importance of providing educational opportunities to marginalized communities and serves as a model for educational development in underserved coastal areas.
