This directive comes in the wake of a brutal incident in Pallabi, Mirpur, where an eight-year-old child was raped and murdered, resulting in a death sentence for two defendants. The new bench is scheduled to commence operations from the upcoming Sunday. The Attorney General informed the press that this move aims to address public concerns over delays in the execution of justice in such sensitive cases. He highlighted that while lower courts issue sentences, the final execution requires High Court approval and that public anxiety stems from potential delays in appellate reviews.
