Police in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, have arrested nine leaders and activists of the banned student organization, Bangladesh Chhatra League. The arrests were made during overnight raids across various areas of the upazila. These individuals were subsequently sent to jail through the court today under the Speedy Trial Act. The detentions followed a procession organized by the group yesterday, the images of which were shared on social media, leading to tensions and a counter-demonstration by the local Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal. A case was filed by the police, naming 55 individuals and implicating 25-30 others, prompting the operation.
