Chemiebedrijf in Nederland dumpt 5 miljoen kilo zoutafval op landbouwgrond aan grens met België
Een chemiebedrijf uit Groningen heeft de afgelopen 3 jaar zo'n 5 miljoen kilo afvalzout illegaal laten dumpen nabij de grens met België. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van onderzoeksplatformen Follow The Money (FTM) en BN De Stem. Het zout belandde op landbouwgronden en veroorzaakte ernstige bodemverontreiniging.
A chemical company based in Groningen, the Netherlands, has been found to have illegally dumped approximately 5 million kilograms of salt waste over the past three years. The waste was deposited on agricultural land situated near the Belgian border. Investigations by platforms Follow The Money and BN De Stem revealed significant soil contamination as a direct result of this dumping.
