Christodoulides offers ‘no comment’ over prospect of cabinet reshuffle
President Nikos Christodoulides on Sunday refused to be drawn into discussions over whether he will perform a cabinet reshuffle in the aftermath of last month’s parliamentary elections, which saw two of the three parties which support his government lose all their seats in the legislature. “I have no comment. Reshuffles are not announced, they are executed. When something happens, there will be an announcement made by the presidential palace,” he told reporters during a visit
President Nikos Christodoulides has declined to comment on the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle following recent parliamentary elections. The elections saw two parties supporting his government lose all their seats. Christodoulides stated that any changes to the cabinet would be announced officially when they occur, rather than being discussed in advance. The parties in question, Dipa and Edek, currently hold three ministerial positions within the government. This comes after a significant cabinet reshuffle in December of last year.
The potential for a cabinet reshuffle is significant as it could alter the political landscape and the composition of key government ministries, particularly in light of recent electoral setbacks for supporting parties.
