This issue was highlighted during a virtual discussion organized by Prothom Alo Bondhusobha on World Environment Day. The conversation emphasized that effective tree planting is crucial for environmental and climatic well-being, especially amidst rapid urbanization and climate change concerns. Participants stressed the importance of nurturing planted trees as much as the act of planting itself. The government's initiative to plant 250 million trees nationwide over five years was also discussed, with a focus on using native species grown from seeds and avoiding foreign varieties. Social organizations like Bondhusobha are being encouraged to participate in this large-scale reforestation effort.

Ensuring the survival of planted trees is critical for mitigating climate change impacts and preserving Bangladesh's ecological balance for future generations.
