A 57-year-old man was laid to rest in Nova Lima, in the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area, after he was fatally assaulted while intervening in a sexual harassment incident. The victim, identified as Ailton da Silva, reportedly stepped in when a man persistently harassed two women leaving a street festival. The altercation escalated when the aggressor allegedly punched Silva, causing him to fall and hit his head. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Silva succumbed to his injuries. Security footage captured the assault, and the suspect, 47-year-old Antônio Edson de Oliveira Alves, was apprehended at his residence shortly after fleeing the scene with his young son.
