A rescue operation was launched in the Agios Nikolaos area of Naousa to assist a 52-year-old hiker who sustained an injury in a remote location. The man was hiking in a challenging, wooded area of Mount Davelis in Vermio when he injured his back. Following his call to emergency services and precise geolocation, a team of 23 firefighters from Naousa, along with specialized rescue units, was mobilized. Rescuers successfully reached the injured hiker, stabilized him on a stretcher, and transported him to a safe area where an ambulance from the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV) took over for transport to the hospital. Private citizens also contributed to the rescue effort.
