In separate incidents across four districts in Bangladesh, seven children and teenagers have tragically lost their lives due to drowning. The victims, all minors, drowned between Sunday morning and mid-afternoon. Two deaths occurred in Mymensingh, where a six-year-old boy and his five-year-old cousin fell into a pond while playing. Similarly, two four-year-old cousins drowned in a pond in Nilphamari after going for an unsupervised swim. Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 16, drowned in a pond in Panchagarh while bathing. In another incident in Kushtia, one child drowned. Meanwhile, two brothers are missing after going to bathe in the Dharla River in Lalmonirhat, with rescue operations underway.

These tragic drownings highlight the vulnerability of children and adolescents to accidental deaths, underscoring the critical need for enhanced water safety awareness and supervision.
