Mukundakrishna Thapa has been elected as the new chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Khotang. The election took place on Jestha 24th during the party's first district convention held in Diktel. Thapa secured 78 votes, defeating his rival Ojonbabu Acharya, who received 28 votes. Thapa had previously been appointed chairman following the party's first district assembly on Poush 13, 2081.
