The Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) has called for the establishment of a dedicated housing fund and the introduction of long-term home loans with single-digit interest rates. REHAB leaders presented these demands during a meeting with the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, aiming to revitalize the country's housing sector. They believe that accessible and affordable home loans will enable middle and lower-middle-income families to achieve homeownership, thereby stimulating the national economy. Furthermore, REHAB emphasized the need for planned housing development at district and sub-district levels to effectively decentralize Dhaka and encourage people to reside outside the capital.

These proposals aim to make homeownership more accessible for a wider population and boost economic activity through the real estate sector.
