Palace to gov't agencies: Support NAPOLCOM's crime prevention program
Malacañang has ordered national government agencies to support the country"s crime prevention efforts towards promoting public safety and an efficient criminal justice system.
The Presidential Palace has directed national government agencies to actively support the Philippines' crime prevention initiatives, aiming to bolster public safety and enhance the efficiency of the criminal justice system. This directive, outlined in Memorandum Circular 120, tasks the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) with leading the implementation of the 2026 National Criminal Prevention Program (NCPP).
The NCPP focuses on several key areas, including strengthening community-based efforts, modernizing technology and infrastructure, improving law enforcement capabilities, and fostering better coordination among different sectors of the justice system. Local government units are also encouraged to participate in these efforts, with funding to be sourced from existing appropriations of NAPOLCOM and other relevant agencies.
This directive aims to create a more unified and effective approach to crime prevention and the criminal justice system across the country.
