Four young children were discovered alone in Alto Alegre, Roraima, early Sunday morning. The discovery began when a resident found a one-year-old boy wandering by himself on a street near a party. Police were alerted and, upon investigating, found three other children, aged one, four, and ten, inside a nearby house without adult supervision. The home was reportedly in disarray and had poor hygiene conditions.
A 16-year-old, identified as the mother of one of the children and daughter of the home's responsible adult, arrived during the police presence. She explained that her mother had left for a party, leaving the children unattended. The teenager had also left to search for her mother when the youngest child apparently wandered out of the house.
The incident highlights concerns about child welfare and parental responsibility, prompting an investigation into potential neglect.
