Antonio Diederichsen, also known as "Seu Tonico," was a pivotal businessman instrumental in the modernization of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, during the early 20th century. Born in 1875, he diversified the city's economy beyond coffee, establishing a multi-faceted company that included a foundry and mechanical workshop. Diederichsen was also a pioneer in introducing automobiles and fuel stations to the region. His most ambitious project was the Edifício Diederichsen, completed in 1937, which became a landmark and one of the first skyscrapers in the interior of São Paulo. This initiative took place despite the economic uncertainties following the 1929 crisis.
