Romina Costa was crowned Miss 40+ Unique, a pageant aimed at empowering women over 40 in Cape Verde. The event, held at Tchida Arena, also highlighted the importance of self-esteem and societal roles for women in the archipelago. Costa, a 40-year-old merchant and mother of three, expressed pride and encouraged women to recognize their inner strength. Other titles awarded included First Lady to Cláudia Spencer, Second Lady to Denise Brito, Miss Sympathy to Linda Fortes, and Most Popular Candidate to Carla Fortes. This year's edition notably focused on raising awareness and combating gender-based violence, with support initiatives for victims being a key feature. The pageant's organizer, Marlene Neves, deemed the event a success, citing strong public turnout as motivation for future editions. Costa will now represent Sal island in the national final next year, while plans are underway for an international edition in the USA.
