Mahendra Prasad Chapagai has been elected as the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party's Rupandehi chapter. The election was held after consensus could not be reached for leadership positions, with all posts for officials and members decided by vote. Chapagai secured 296 votes, defeating his competitor Ashish Neupane, who received 143 votes. Chapagai previously served as a provincial member and head of the publicity department.

This election marks a significant step in the organizational development of the Rastriya Swatantra Party in the Rupandehi district.
