KUALA LUMPUR: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (Astro) mengumumkan pengunduran Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulannya (GCEO), Euan Smith, selepas enam tahun bersama syarikat penyiaran itu. Astro dalam satu kenyataan berkata, keputusan itu dibuat ketika kumpulan berada pada fasa seterusnya dalam transformasi platformnya, sekali gus menjadikan peralihan kepimpinan sebagai langkah yang sesuai untuk meneruskan pertumbuhan dan hala tuju strategik kumpulan. Euan Smith has stepped down as Group Chief Executive Officer of Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd after six years with the company. The media and entertainment group stated that the leadership transition is a suitable move as the company enters a new phase of its platform transformation. Smith joined Astro in April 2020 and was appointed GCEO in February 2023, playing a key role in its digital transformation. Former GCEO Henry Tan has been appointed as interim GCEO while the search for a permanent replacement is underway. Tan will lead the company's operations with support from the existing executive team, and Smith will continue to provide advisory and technical support until December 2026.
The leadership change occurs as Astro navigates a period of declining revenue and seeks to continue its strategic growth and digital transformation.
