Kassman takes helm as PNG CORE Executive Director

The Papua New Guinea Chamber of Resources and Energy (PNG CORE) has officially appointed Richard Kassman, OBE, as its new Executive Director. Kassman joins the organization with over 40 years of professional experience spanning the energy, tourism, insurance, and civil society sectors. Known for his advocacy regarding governance and accountability, he previously held a senior communications role at TotalEnergies EP PNG Limited and helped establish Transparency International PNG. Beyond his corporate career, he has a history of public service, including his tenure as Chef de Mission for Team PNG during the 2015 Pacific Games. PNG CORE leadership expressed confidence that his appointment will bolster the organization's efforts to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. The Chamber also extended gratitude to Philip Samar for his steady guidance while serving as the interim leader during the transition period.

This appointment places a veteran leader with a background in both corporate energy and public governance at the center of Papua New Guinea's critical resources and energy policy advocacy.
