A recent survey conducted by Tajikistan's Anti-Corruption Agency reveals that the Ministry of Justice is the fourth most corrupt government body in the country. Within the ministry, the Civil Registry Office accounts for nearly half of all reported bribery incidents, followed closely by the State Notary Office. Together, these two departments represent over 83% of the corruption complaints filed against the Ministry of Justice. Despite these findings, ministry officials have remained silent and have not responded to requests for comment. The broader study highlights that education, internal affairs, and healthcare sectors currently face the highest levels of systemic corruption. Many citizens attribute these issues to inadequate wages and difficult living conditions, though the vast majority of those affected choose not to report their experiences to authorities.
